Job Requirements:The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Florida seeks to increase our Division of Neuroanesthesia, currently comprised of 6 Neuroanesthesiologists and 1 Neurointensivist to assist in staffing our new Neuromedicine Hospital. Fellowship training in Neuroanesthesia is desirable/preferred. Certification or eligibility for certification in Neurocritical Care is required to work in the Neurocritical Care Unit. Applicants must possess credentials to obtain a State of Florida physician's license.
Job Description:Tenure or non-tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor ranks to teach and practice at UF Health Shands Hospital, UF Health Heart Vascular and Neuromedicine Hospitals Shands Children's Hospital, and Shands Cancer Hospital at the University of Florida, a tertiary care teaching facility located in Gainesville, FL (including, Level I Trauma Center, High risk Ob, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 4 NICU, Congenital Heart Center, Solid Organ Transplantation, Cancer Center. Abundant opportunities exist to develop independent and collaborative research as well as innovative education models. The Neuroanesthesia division works collaboratively with neurosurgeons and neurologists in support of the premier neuromedicine program in the Southeast. We provide care to the full spectrum of neurosurgical cases including operative and interventional neurovascular, complex spine, functional, and pediatric cases. Successful applicants will be integrated in the medical direction of Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring. Neuroanesthesiologists are expected to participate in dedicated subspecialty call. Base salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience and education. Additional variable compensation is available. Department anesthesiologists practice alongside 84 faculty anesthesiologists, 87 residents, 22 fellows, and 56 CRNA/AAs.
